Heartbeats: Embryo Placement
Heartbeats has partnered with the Snowflakes Embryo Adoption Program of Nightlight Christian Adoptions. This Program makes it possible for you to recieve embryos from couples who have completed their IVF treatments and have remaining embryos. These embryos are currently stored in fertility clinics and are waiting to be place with loving parents. As a recipient parent, you receive autobiographical information, medical health history, and pictures from the family whose embryos you receive. You are placed with all the embryos a family has and the embryos are transported to your local fertility clinic. Your own doctor can perform the frozen embryo transfer and you can finally hear the long-awaited words, "You're pregnant!" Over 200 babies have been born through the Snowflakes Program and dozens of families are awaiting a loving couple to receive their embryos.
Is Embryo Placement right for you?
For some couples opting for embryo placement is a very straight forward decision but for others there are lots of things to be considered and thought about before making the decision. There are lots of complex issues involved. It is an emotional roller coaster ride for the couple, the families and friends. A Heartbeats counselor can help recipient parents put things in perspective. Other options to embryo placement like adoption, and surrogacy can be considered.
