Services for Adoptive Families

Identified adoption services are available when birth and adoptive parents have identified one another, without the agency's assistance. All pre- and post-placement services for both adoptive and birth parents are provided.

In Delaware, although private adoptions are illegal, a pre-arranged match between adoptive and birth parents can be processed as an agency adoption when the agency provides all mandated services.

Intermediary Adoption Services are available for adoptions that cross state lines. All required adoption services to either birth parents or adoptive parents always include counseling and support.

Home Studies and Pre-Placement Reports are required for private adoptions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Home studies prepared by a licensed agency are required for all out-of-country adoptions.

Adoption Complaint Investigations (ACIs) are completed and required by New Jersey courts in a private adoption.

Adoptions From the Heart can obtain seventy-two hour surrender of parental rights for birth parents placing their child for adoption with a New Jersey family.

Fingerprinting services are available for FBI and the New Jersey State Police clearance which is required for all applicants adopting a baby from the state of New Jersey.

Inter-State compact preparation and filing for adoptions taking place across state lines.

Supervisory visits and reports required by the court in private adoptions and/or adoptions taking place across state lines.

Adoptions From The Heart is licensed in New York and can provide home studies and supervisory reports for private adoptions.
