Vietnam Adoption

In April 2006, Adoptions From The Heart obtained our license to place children from Vietnam for the first time since their program was closed in 2003. AFTH placed 250 Vietnamese children from 1995-2003.

Adoptions From The Heart’s staff in Vietnam, headed by Mr. Binh, works directly with the Department of International Adoption (DIA) in Hanoi, the Ministry of Justice, and orphanages to process the required paperwork and help facilitate adoptions through the Vietnamese government.  They also meet all families at the airport and escort them to all appointments, including the US CIS office and the Embassy in Hanoi.

AFTH is currently not accepting any new applications for the Vietnam Program. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the US and Vietnam expires September 2008. The MOU is unlikely to be renewed but a new one may be drafted. If there is a new MOU we will re-evaluate our program as to when we would be able to accept new families into the program. Please check back for updates.
