Families Seeking an African-American ChildLesley & Barb - Family #1114
Dear Birthparent(s): Thanks for considering us! We‘ve filled our 14 years together with friends, family, and fun. We‘ve always had lots of young people in our lives nieces/nephews, students, friends‘ families and now we‘re excited to become parents. We‘ve lived in 4 different cities and stay in touch with people around the country. Writing a letter like this feels very natural for us because we love sending and receiving mail. We both moved away from home for college and learned the importance of staying connected. We love visits from people from out of town and enjoy taking road trips to see them. We‘re both teachers! Lesley taught elementary school but now is a college professor. She teaches children’s literature classes to teachers. Her love of children’s books means that our home will be filled tons of great books. Lesley‘s full of energy and has a generous spirit. Barb teaches high school science in an urban district and works with students from diverse backgrounds. She loves science but it‘s the relationships she builds with young people that really make her happy. Barb is always ready to play and is known for her optimism. We both value education and just love learning. Teaching makes it possible for us to be primary care-givers not only during the summer, but all year because Lesley can work from home and teach only evenings. We love our diverse neighborhood. Our close-knit block is a place where everyone feels like famly and there is accceptance of all kinds of differences. Acceptance and connections are themes in our lives and we we’d love to share those values with a child and with you. -Lesley & Barb If you are interested in this family and want information sent to you by mail please fill out our convenient online form.
