Dear Birthparents:

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us a little better. Having been through the adoption process twice, we know and appreciate what an incredible journey this truly is.

Our names are Kim and Jodi and we have been together now for eighteen years.  In 2004 we were blessed when our daughter Grace was placed with us.  It was the happiest day of our lives and one that would change us forever.

For so long we dreamed of being parents, and now that we were, we wanted our family to continue to grow.  In early 2006, we again cried ‘happy tears’ as Gracie would say, at the birth of our son Jack.  Jack was placed in our arms by his birthmother as Gracie watched on.  It again was a day that we all will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Our family is an interesting group.  We are very creative and theatrical.  We love being outdoors, riding bikes, putting on backyard shows and even an occasional family circus.   We taking trips to the beach as well as our annual trip to Walt Disney World, but we also cherish quiet times like family movie night, pajama pancake mornings and dinners together.

Jodi is a full time stay-at-home mom, retired Broadway actress and current president of the school PTA.  Kim is the Executive Director of a national children’s charity. Gracie is an outgoing, energetic, larger than life kindergartener who loves being a big sister.  She is protective of her brother but also his best friend.  Jack is … well he is Jack! He is a charming, funny, and very happy little boy who is never shy to tell his family or friends that he loves them.  Together, our family is quite the team: a group of individuals who cherish each other and are so thankful of the adoption stories that have made us a family.

One might question why we are writing this letter once again.  The answer is simple.  We don’t think our journey is over.  Both of us have always wanted a large family where the kids have each other to talk to, to play with, to grow up with, and to share their family memories.

We know how truly blessed we are to be a family.  We treasure and respect the unique relationships we have with both Gracie and Jack’s birth families and look forward to building a relationship with you that you and your family are comfortable with.

While we cannot begin to understand how difficult a decision it is to choose adoption, we do understand what a beautiful and loving choice it is.  Any child placed with us will be brought up in a home full of love where they too will understand and be proud of their adoption story.

Wishing you peace on your journey,

Kim, Jodi, Grace and Jack
